Fishing 8/17

Me, DDOlson, Saltyyakker, and going2missher launched from Station 26 and fished behind Sullivans Island.

Lots of small rat reds and flounder. I could have swore I saw small flounder jumping out of the water during low tide. Lots of bonnethead sharks cruising around. Even saw a huge spotted ray cruising along the waterway…me and DD tried to catch it just for the sleigh ride, but no luck.

All my fish came on mud minnows, fished under a float, and the biggest was a 15" flounder. Caught four reds - biggest of those was 13".

I had about the same results a couple weeks ago. I thought about paddling out to the cove and trying that but its such a pain with all the boats.

Are you talking about the inlet that can be seen to the right from the road coming onto Sullivans island?

Thanks for the info. I fished right off station 19 near the inlet that looks a bit like Copahee and have done pretty well back there. Hooked into a nice spanish awhile back that sprinted right at me and threw the hook right under the kayak.
