Going to Elbow Key next week. Anyone been or heard reports?
I’m not sure. You may wanna go on Florida Sportsman site. They have a Bahamas section. I have trolled right off of Hopetown with success. Are you taking a boat over…?
We are flying over but friend has home and boats there.

Weather has sucked. Dolphin numbers have slowed offshore, but it’s also been tough to get out and fish. You should have a great time either way. You can always spear fish or catch lobster in sea of abaco when it’s to rough to fish the ocean.
Fished a couple of days, from Elbow and south, more around Cherokee Sound. Caught nice white marlin, some black fin and dolphin, as well as some bottom fish. Saw 79# grouper from another boat.

We are towing from Bluffton to West Palm June 12 and running to Great Guana Cay on the 13th for a week. Keep us posted on your report when you get back. Will be fishing the same area as you.

There were more boats fishing than we saw in recent years, and they were catching fish. Some tuna early and late, under birds. Black fin on surface but I hooked a likely yellowfin jigging under surface action. You should have good action with Mahi etc. Good luck.

I’m heading to Cherokee in June, how far off were you for blackfin, mahi? Will have a panga style boat , rods and hawaiian slings. any reccomendations?

Lucky Dog, very jealous. That will be a great trip. We did the same in a center console in 2013 - trailered from Charleston to West Palm, then West Palm to West End to Rosie’s Place on Grande Caye in one day then Grande Caye to Hopetown to pick up the women, then stayed at Treasure. Have fun at Nipper’s.
Stop by Double Breasted Caye if you can, if you are gong above Grande Bahama on your way over to Great Guana*
Black fin were within sight of shore, though that can be deep water there. Good radar can help spot birds, but an alternative is to watch other boats. Several doing same thing.

Rosie’s on Grand Cay brings back a bunch of memories. A good friend, Craig Cephas’ mother runs the Sassie Cassie Motel on Grand. Great folks and happy to see the respectful traveler now that Walker’s has been down for so long. Great corner of the world.
