0900 Monday morning we took the little boat and headed for folly…with plans to fish stono -side as on the day before. Skies were grey and heavy…but we hoped to get at least a few hours in before the storm hit us. Had been out about 40 minutes when the sky turned black and the sound of thunder and flash of lightening told us that we should be anywhere but on the water
…Roo was pacing back and forth and her RADAR ears were in constant motion…and if we hadnt left when we did I think she would have swam back to the truck!. Popped the boat back on the trailer and sat it out for about 30 minutes before the storm seemed to ease…so we set out again. The fish bite was fast and furious after the storm…and it seemed every bank and point we tried held a few. We caught reds, trout, whiting, pinfish, toadfish, bluefish and a ■■■■■■■■■■■■■…I even caught a dinner plate size turtle and a sting ray in the cast net! Had a blast and didnt even load back up for home until almost 6pm. Heres a few pics. Fished with these little tiny shrimp under cork and drifted with a split shot most of the time…but did catch a few on grubs and minnows on the bottom too.
tiny tiny shrimp…but this was just one cast!

someone else running form the rain!

donnie hanging the minnow bucket over:smiley:

Beautiful pictures and great narrative, Penny. Glad y’all waited out the storm, as your persistence obviously paid off. Oh yeah, congrats on the slam too!

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Yep, we have been catching tiny shrimp near Bowen’s Island. We try to throw them back but usually a few slip into the storage locker by our front casting platform. They don’t smell so tiny a couple days later…
Caught the ones in the pic up in a area on the stono creek side…
