Well I was having my morning talk with my daddy yesterday…and of course shrimping and fishing came up…“too bad the winds blowing as it is he says”…“ahhhh…come on daddy…dont be a wimp…its gonna’calm right down”…“lets go give it a shot this afternoon”. Went on to tell him that I still had some bait from last year, my freezer was full /// so we needed to put some in his…I mean no matter how you look at it…a day on the water together was well worth the trip…and catching some shrimp and fish would be a added bonus.!!! I threw my stuff in the truck and headed north. Winds blowing like crazy when I got there at 230…but by 4 it was starting to calm!! Head out towards the bay checking out some banks along the way, picking up one or two shrimp here and there…finally find a spot where I was getting 5-6 cast…so since it was already going o 5oclock …stick the poles in and bait them up…and wait…first run…17 shrimp total:frowning_face:…and mostly small…next run…11 shrimp…and getting smaller…whatcha want to do he says??..“not stay here!!” I said with a grin…so up come the poles and we head off again… 15 minutes later… we are setting and baiting poles again…and see a few shrimp skip as we do…( we were in 3-3.5 foot water… waited 15 minutes and made first run…first cast …net settles on the bottom and I feel that wonderful “tick-tick-tick” of shrimp trapped beneath it!!!..pull it in and as it clears the water I hear that sound i love…best I can explain is it sounds like a maddened school of manhadden popping all at once…and the net comes up with a thick mess of nice shrimp in the horn…yeaaaahhh baby:smiley:…"lizabet is a happy woman!!! run the poles…1/3 cooler nice shrimp, mixed but nice…after that it slowed but we managed to get a cooler full…first pole hit at 615…by 930 we were sitting at the kitchen table eating grits/salmon patties/sliced tomatoes and home made biscuits made by my mom:smiley:…Donnie just shook his head when he saw …and “smelled” me as I walked in the bac
