Fishing Artificials this time of year.

I have an arsenal off soft baits that I have collected over the years. It’s like an addiction to buy a bag when I see a cool looking bait, I just gotta have it.

Everybody says fish slow this time of year with cold water temps. If I am trolling back creeks covering ground until I find fish, how is the best way to present the bait. Pitch it and let it sit still or slow bump and retrieve?

Thanks

Don’t know if there is a “best” way. I like to lift and drop or hop it about an inch at a time with a second or two pause. Varying the retrieve until you get bit is a good way to start. The fish will tell you how they like a lot of times.

^ this. It does make it hard to cover a lot of ground. So, concentrate your efforts in spots where fish are likely to be found
