fishing at ben sawyer bridge??

Has anyone ever fished at or put their boat in next to the ben sawyer bridge in the inter coastal? i would like to know if i can drop my john boat off and fish for sheepshead under the bridge. any tips or information on the boat ramp would be helpful!

By “dropping it off” if you mean using the landing that is next to the bridge it is private.

I have fished there but you are probably running a 50/50 of getting run off if the USCG happens to come by. Don’t be a jackwad and tie up to the channel side of the fender system. There are sheephead there. I have seen them while doing the underwater inspection of the bridge.

Narcosis

I see people fish the inwards (shore side) of the bridge quite often. I hear there are sheep there.

Before the renovation, we’d fish the pedestal of the Ben Sawyer for sheeps. But you can’t get a boat in there now. Safely getting a kayak inside the new fenders might be iffy.
