fishing at Santee State Park

I’m headed to Santee State Park this weekend to camp with my son. He is interested in fishing in Lake Marion since there is a pier near the campsite. I plan to bring a couple rods, but I have zero experience with freshwater fishing. 2 questions:

  1. is there a bait shop at the santess state park camp ground where I can get tackle/bait/tips?
  2. does anyone have any tips to fish from the pier there? Not looking for a record breaking fish, just some tug on the line.

Catfish are starting to come into the shallows you should catch some off the pier fish around dust until11 or so santee general store has tackle and bait I would fish with live shad good luck if you have a boat I can put you on a bass spot or to around there.
