The wife wants to book me a fishing charter for my birthday, which may be the best birthday present yet. Would be looking at early to mid April. I’m not sure what is biting where that time of year. I have only done some inshore fishing in my boat that time of year & have never really had much luck. I would kind of like to go out of Murrells Inlet, Georgetown, or Little River. I would want to target fish for eating not just sport, any advice???
Inshore.
Will anything be biting that time of year worth doing an inshore trip?
Any recommendations on guides?
Near Shore.
Never done any near shore fishing, anything biting & okay to keep then?
Any recommendations on guides?
Offshore.
I know the fishing starts to pick up then but I also think some of the target fish are out of season then too? I have done good during the summer months in the past offshore but just hate that long ride out & back from the Gulf stream. Also a trip out to the Gulf is a lot more expensive.
Any recommendations on guides?
Any help would be greatly appreciated….
If he’s available I would use Jay Sconyers out if Murrells Inlet. You can get in contact with him on Facebook at Facebook.com/Jay.Sconyers
He’s honestly the best around

I ended up going with Chris Long out of little river for a May trip. I wanted to go out of MI but didn’t get any input before I booked. I might give Capt Jay a try next time around. Thanks guys.
