On a scale of one to ten…I give today a 9…and only because the gnats were absolutely horrible for a little while this morning( and the two new cans of bug spray I had bought were in the garage)…and because there werent enough hours in the day !
Bait was no problem again today…and we can just hope that the shrimp that seem to be getting bigger …will stay around for a little late run…right into our freezers:smiley:
Just a few casts and we had all the bait we could hold…even put a few in a ziplock in the cooler. Fished some shoreline first…lots and lots of trash fish. As soon as the bait would hit the water it was gone:roll_eyes:! kept moving until we found a place where the good fish were faster than the bait snatchers…and had fun catching a even dozen reds, a small flounder…but no trout!! Moved to some docks and caught a few more reds…broke off two…one due to crappy tying…cant hide the curly Q tail where hook came lose on the end of you line when you reel it back in:face_with_head_bandage:…I told donnie it was so the fish wouldnt be dragging line with it…a newly developed release system for over size reds:smiley:…
he didnt buy it at all.
Took Roo to the sandbar in front of the marina which was quickly being swallowed up by the incoming tide…so after a few minutes run went on to the big sand bank before you get to bird island/key.
She ran and ran and ran. That dog thinks she is a cross between a lab and a greyhound:smiley: Picked up a few shark teeth there again for those of you with kids that might want to look for some. Water was super clear!
I fished the bottom most of the time today in a effort to outsmart the bait fish…sometimes it worked…most of the time not:frowning_face:
Big …only a couple over slot variety today. quite a few reds, only two trout…and small,12"flounder,pinfish,pufferfish(5), endangered black sea bass that seem to be everywhere, the given stingray, toadfish, blue fish.Everything released except for a couple spots that became bait:imp:
Sounds like fun day! Also whenever we put the boay the sandbat the backside shollow side always had finger Mullet. I habent ever caught a pufferfish on a big finger Mullet:)

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.
