Fishing for reds, sheepshead, flounder

Hello all. Fairly new to the salt water world of fishing. I’ve been out to the jetties several times over the past few weeks and have only caught 1 good bull red. The other fish caught were BSB, Sharks, stingray, toadfish and a couple whiting back in the intracoastal. I’m using life menhaden and just letting it sit on the bottom. I feel like it’s been pretty slow but I also could be missing out on somethings. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would like to catch more sheepshead, flounder and reds.

I’ve heard that cut up hotdogs will catch anything

you look like youre used to trolling with rebull vodkas along the jersey shore. post a pic with a flood tide hat and buff, some westbrook empties on deck, and a pot belly. i think you’ll get more responses.

Good write up on the Jetties.

Try changing up the bait. I’ve caught a ton of shark/rays on menhayden. I’m not saying they’re not good bait for reds, but live finger mullet, shrimp and cut crab may change your luck. If you’re only going for bull reds, try around the edges of the jetties where the tide is ripping around them. If you’re looking for redfish in general, shrimp and live mullet under docks are tough to beat.
