Fishing from Hatchery Shore

Hey guys,
I’ve been doing a decent amount of fishing at the hatchery landing and haven’t had much luck. I’ve tried both trails; the one that follows the boat load in and the other trail opposite the load in ramp that takes you to a beach area without any luck.

I’ve used both shad plastic lures and night crawlers sitting at the bottom. Occasionally something small will eat my worms but outside of that…nothing. I’d prefer to continue fishing the beach area (opposite the boat ramp). Boaters will fly through the mini canal blasting their music with no regard for fishers.
The other side has a nice sandy beach and some trees quite a ways out in the water providing some structure but making me think it stays shallow quite always out.

Should I switch to minnows? Should I just give up on the area and find something new? Any advice at all is appreciated. (No boat, unfortunately)

Unfortunately, that area is a high use area for boats. The beach you are talking about is on a long gradual slope. You’d have to walk out a long way to find water over your head. Not a great place for bream, but the patient catfish angler could do well from dusk to dawn. Fresh cut fish or stink bait would be my bait of choice.
