Ok so I have fished in upstate NY fingerlakes,lake ontario,lake erie. I am now moving to charleston in 1 year and not sure what gear to keep.
I have the following rods
Berkely 7’ med action 1/8-3/4oz 4-12lb line
G-Loomis 6’6" MH fast 8-15lb line
Shakespeare uglystick 7’Med 8-20lb line
Shakespeare uglystik 5’10" med 6-15lb line

Reels
Shimano sahara 2500fd 6/200 8/140 10/120
Okuma stratus xts 40 8/270 10/190 12/170
Shimano sedona 4000fd 8/240 10/200 12/160
Shakespeare ezcast 3500 6/185 8/145 10/120
Any suggestions on what to keep/pairing would be greatly appreciated.

I’d say keep it, that 5’10" is pretty short but you can always upgrade later. Just respool your stuff with braid

go to Haddrell’s Mt Pleasant. find the big guy named Mike - the big older one, not the young skinny one. ask him to explain his reel program.

low pressure wash. penn reel spray. wipe down. he’ll explain the program. I dont’ wanna ruirn it for you.

the salt is brutal on equipment. his program is one of the best fishin tips I ever got. greatly prolonged the life of my equipment.
