It was so foggy you won’t be able to see the pics…that…and I forgot my camera[:0]…couldn’t believe it! Still picking up bait shrimp and fat minnows…fished the incoming tide…caught a few reds, trout and a toadfish…back by noonish…cooked burgers on the grill while we cleaned the boat…now time for a nap before starting my first of four nights(1930-0800). Sure is pretty out there now… but fog was thicker than. Kudzu this morning! Was still glad to get a short trip in before going back to work…oh yeah…and I fixed the eye on my rod last night
This reminds me of a time we went to lake Murray to striper fish and it was foggy so we thought we’d idol to the main water(no GPS at this time) so as we idled a while thinking we should be getting close a boat ask if we were catching anything. We said no were headed to the main water. He said oh you’ve passed me three times I thought you were trolling lol
Yep, several years ago we left Shull island on Murray heading for Bear creek. The first two times we wound up back at Shull after making big circles! Atleast we were smart enough to be going slowly in the fog. Some of these crazy guys now fly up the lake in the fog, trusting their GPS to guide them. That’s not exactly a smart or safe way to travel in the fog!
Hate the fog. Spent the night once offshore, unable to get through Stono Inlet (no gps at the time). Only an idiot runs full speed ahead in it, even with gps.
Was out in it yesterday, hit the no wake zone at the Ben Sawyer bridge and a boat comes flying through the fog. I don’t rely too much on it but Navionics iphone app seems to be pretty accurate as long as your cell signal is strong. Helped me out big time yesterday.
