Anybody else not receive there SC fishing license by mail.
We have been on the mailing list for 10 years with no problems but this year I still have not received mine or my wife’s license for both fresh and saltwater. checked the bank and the check has not cleared. no answer at the phone # on the app.

Update;
I’m still on hold and getting more pissed by the minute. 26 minutes and counting.
Called DNR License Dept and they told me they had my application and that they were too busy to process all of the applications and That I might want to reschedule my fishing until I receive my new license !!! Paid by check the day I received it 6/9/2014. Or I can get another one at a local agent. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she put me on hold.
Is any body from DNR Law enforcement on here. This is totally bull ****.
Now the ***** hung up on me.

Sorry guy, that was not called for and I apologize.
I spoke to a nice lady at Fort Johnson that led me to a nice guy in Columbia by the name of Brian Kyzer he is the program manager for boating and Licensing. He spent the time to look up my account and my wife’s account and issue me a new license and to e-mail me the information for my wife’s . Her’s was processed and mine was not.

Why don’t you just buy them online? Then you can print them out and go. It only take a couple of minutes.

The ones I’ve done like this only gave you a temporary pass that (I think) expire after a certain number of days. Your actual annual license is mailed to you afterward.

It gives you a confirmation number. If you get stopped by DNR they can call it in and verify that you are good to go. I would think that once you’re in the computer it wouldn’t expire.

They are way understaffed. I mailed in an application for my boat and motor when I bought it the last week of January and didn’t get it back until the last week of April. When I called they were very nice about it and told me that even though the 60 days had lapsed to drive on my bill of sale that I could just keep a copy of the paperwork and title in the boat and ride on that. Said if I got stopped to tell them who I had spoken with in cola and we should be fine. Nice people just understaffed and over worked.

Negative, they are good for the entire year. I’ve bought fishing licenses on-line for the last 10 years, SC, GA, FL, can’t even remember when I’ve wrote a check or relied on snail mail. 5 minutes and done.

Hm. Well I wonder where I came up with that idea. I need to dig up my little printout from last year, I could have sworn that it said the printout was only temporary and was only good for “X” number of days.
I always wait until the day before to update my license since it can be done online. WAAAAY easier on me and on the bait shop, most of them don’t like selling fishing licenses anyhow.

I sincerely hope ya’ll get old enough to not have to worry about the renewal process. Just get to 65, buy one five year license for $15. The next one is for life and it’s free.

Like I said ,I’ve never had a problem before and we’ve been doing it for years. Going into a holiday weekend I want my License. Do ya think they will be checking? you know they will!!
