I have an opportunity to purchase some new fishing line at a greatly reduced price but have not used any of it before so I wanted to get some input here. Has anyone used any of the following and, would you recommend one over the other?
Berkley Fireline Tracer Braid
Berkley Fireline Braid
Berkley Big Game Braid
Berkley Vanish Flourocarbon
Spiderwire Braid
i would definitely get some fluoro. i got a whole spool of 20lb vanish from my dad- leader material forever, way better than the 25yd mini spools!!!
spiderwire stays rounder than the fireline from what i’ve seen, impressed with strength and casting on spiderwire but not so much with the fireline- it stayed strong for years but flattened out on the spool like dental floss. only used them a little, most of my stuff is powerpro now. hope you get some more ■■■■■■■■ on that one.
There’s fluorocarbon coated mono (Berkley Vanish fishing line) and then there is 100% fluorocarbon leader (Berkley Vanish leader). The fluro coated mono is more forgiving and limp. A lot of fluorocarbon leader material is stiff. I know funny funny I said stiff… Anyway another little bit of info is fluorocarbon leader is heavier than mono so it tends to sink a lot faster. Good luck!

Tracer Braid for trolling or dropping.
One of the two line colors will contrast well in bright or cloudy.
5’ per color I believe - makes counting down for jigging easy.
Also for spooling reels up if ya don’t need the entire roll.
Had good results with the basic braid knots.
Not as quick to fade as Power Pro.
Anyone using your gear needs to know about it’s cutting capabilities!
i like the spiderwire ultra cast (yellow box) that is on one of my rods alot. Another has different spiderwire stealth (red box) on it and it’s pretty good too. I have used fireline too and think the spiderwire is better.
