Fishing Log Software

Looking for a fishing log software. What do y’all use and like?

I don’t do a fishing log, but feel like I carry one with me wherever I go:sunglasses: Seriously, I have a pretty good memory of what worked when, where, and how, including things like water clarity and weather conditions. Furthermore, my chart serves as a good reference. I save a waypoint everywhere I hook up with decent fish. My chart as around 240 waypoints I’ve saved over the past couple of years. These spots produce over and over again; so I’ve never really seen the necessity to write everything down. Others may see things differently and may respond.

I have been using the same mental app as Fogman but now that I have a smartphone maybe I should try and keep a little more information in a log. Doug Kalish did a presentation for the club a few years back with his fishing log for the computer. http://www.amazon.com/Striper-Fishing-Log-Doug-Kalish/dp/0976594323 Here is a free app for Iphone https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mfp-fishing-log-catch-reports/id523631349?mt=8 I also found this free app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gone-fishing/id298967170?mt=8 With the smartphone apps you can pull GPS data, lunar phase, and position of the moon in the sky, into your reports fairly easily.

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

“Mental app!” I like that. Good suggestions Woody!

The unsuccessful trips/locations/experiences are probably just as relevant as the successful ones but nobody wants to remember those… lol

Bryan,
I just started using an Apple app called Pro Fishing. It does a pretty good job of capturing key data and also has a free form field to document your trip which most apps do not.

Bryan, I have a spreadsheet I keep on each trip, but the software I downloaded on the ipad is very good as well. Works on an iphone also. It is called “Fishing Calendar” which provides the lunar and fish bite cycles, as well as sunsets and sunrise, tides etc. But there is a tab called my catches, that allows you to document the trip, add pictures, select GPS location automatically, input manually or select on a map of the lake. You select which lakes you normally track and can add others as you please. It has blanks for all the normal items you would like to track. $4.99

Brian,
If you have an iphone ScoutLook make a Fish Log app for Bassmasters that allows you log and keep almost anything including weather conditions from your weather service app. I am afraid I to am to old for much of this but it seems pretty inclusive for a sharp enough mind.

Thanks for the suggestions!
