I’ll be staying at the Marsh winds condos (right before the folly river on the right side of the road) for a few more days and was wondering if anyone knew of any accessible places to fish from the shore near here. I’ve been reading the surf fishing isn’t great yet so thought I would ask about the creeks in the area. We have a small fishing/crabbing dock behind the condo but the creek only holds maybe 18-24 inches of water at high tide and is completely empty at dead low so I’m not sure if it’s worth fishing or not. I have an assortment of soft plastics and also some fresh shrimp and tackle for Carolina rigs. Any tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

heading back towards James Island, check out Bowens Island on the left…they have a dock and you can fish there…not sure if it is free access or a few bucks to fish it, but you can easily fish the bank and deeper water in the river…

Thanks for the info! I’ll have to look into it.
If you’r creek is that shallow, and if the weather is suny, it would probably be a great spot to look for crabs or Mullet as bait. As for the fishing, Bull redfish and black drum can be caught year round in the surf with fracked crab or cut mullet, I have had luck where the river meets the ocean just throwing out half of a finger mullet. Another option is to look on google earth for public peirs/docks. If you can find a spot with a few oysters/grass/structure and use those shrimp u are very likely to catch fish. I like to fish the last 2 hours of outgoing tide and first 2 or three hours of incoming tide. Hope you catch some fish!
