Fishing near James Island??

Had to park my boat at a friends house on James Island, (HOA’s are the worst), can anyone recommend a good ramp with easy access to some decent fishing spots? Reds, trout, and flounder are typically all I chase. We will be fishing Sunday morning.

I can draft .5’ of water in my boat if that helps with your response.

I almost exclusively fish Sewee/Bull’s/IOP area, so I would love some input.

Thanks in advance

There’s some great fishing pretty close to the Folly Road ramp. Probably a fifteen minute drive or so from anywhere James Island. Another ramp alternative is Riverland Drive near the firehouse. Current is bad there at times; be careful there.

There’s also Wappoo Cut and Sol Legare ramp that are good during the day time. I wouldn’t leave a car at either of these overnight, but that’s just me.

Wappoo/Riverland drive are north on the island and Sol Legare/Folly are south.

Awesome thanks. I think we will try the Folly road ramp. Now that you mention it, I have heard good things about the fishing near there.

Sol Legare would be me pick. Keeps you out of the beach traffic. Lots of good fishing minutes from the ramp. Take the hint.

It’s certainly different from where you usually fish, but you can catch quality reds and trout very close to that ramp. I don’t flounder fish over that way, but I know plenty of guys that tear them up on the gig.
