I am looking for a decent net and have seen the ones that are rubber rather than nylon or whatever. Does anyone have any experience with these, any reason to get one or stay away from them? I can see where a fish may not get as easily tangled up in these but, I wonder how they would hold up.

got one and like it…what I really like is the collapsible handle on it…and I esp lik eit when it has a fish in it…a big fish!

some generic boga grips should do the job
I just ordered something called the Norton Brass Rattler Fish Grip. It is a fish lip holder in the same sense that The boga grip is but much less money. It got really good reviews on a number of kayak fishing sites. Hopefully I’ll catch some mo fish so I can try it out and I can report back as to whether or not it works. Still want a net for the big ones.
I’ve got one of the rubber nets and it is great. Much less tangles and it is supposed to be easier on the fish’s slime coat.
Agree with Palmetto. Better for you and the fish.
