Fishing off Pier upper Wando

I’ve been fishing off my community dock for the past couple month’s, and since the big rain storm it seems like nothing is biting. There is plenty of shrimp, mullets, etc swimming in the shallows but nothing is biting. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated. I have used shrimp, mullets, squid, gulp saltwater mullets, gulp shrimp, popping cork with DOA shrimp, on an on…

I was fishing below Paradise Island last week. The water was very stained from the drainage of the swamps in the forest. The reds are still there, caught one on topwater, and a few on dark artificials. However, if it’s possible, I’d say relocate closer to the ocean where the tides are diluting the stained water. Surf fishing seems hot right now and you don’t need huge rigs for it.

We also caught some trout on topwater, but again, we had to search for them and I have a feeling we had to be pretty close to them for them to find the bait. The bite was heating up amazingly just before the huge rain. It’s a shame that it hit, but later in the season, when the water clears up I hope the fish will really be hungry!
