Fishing on the Cooper

I debated myself on where to put this post and figured here would would get more looks. Tides where kind of funky and low this weekend, but decides to put in at Bushy Park. Low was 10:30 AM and I figured that as long as I am the water and moving by 8:00, I would be fine.

Tide was more funky that I thought. Plowed mud from the time I left the dock till I hit the river. I run a Keywest 1720 and don’t have but an 11" draft, maybe 18" with motor down. 1.1 - 1.2 feet of water till the channel. We caught some small Cat’s, flounder and a few Trout but nothing to brag about.
Came back 3.5 hours after low and was going to run on a plane back in but my Buddy asked me not to.

Turns out I could have, 2.5 - 3 coming back in. Those that plan on using Bushy, look hard at the tide +/- when planning your trip. It has gotten bad there.

That place is in such terrible shape. It’s sad really. At least you caught a few! Good job!
