fishing out of Hilton Head June 4th and 8th

headed out to check out some new to me bottom numbers in about 80 feet on Saturday june 4 found a sporty sea on the way out found a 10 foot ledge with lots of activity fished flat fall jigs 3 gag grouper and two cobia as well as numerous amber jacks

headed out yesterday afternoon on a flat ocean to the same ledge two short gag grouper ajs and some sharks, water temp 80.5, went out to 120 feet on a flat sea found some short gags 8 nice red snapper and various bottom dwellers water temp 79
they seem to love those flat fall jigs

hopefully get out to the ledge this weekend for a mixed bag of trolling and jigging

spectacular sunset at the dock

Great job! 80 ft for gags is a nice short run!

Pro tip-Don’t mention those endangered Red fish or you will never be able to fish for them again.

X2,x3,x4. Safmc just estimated you killed 5 fish towards next year’s quota. Idiots.

SAFMC does have the kill rate @ 40%.

I do not know how they determine weight from quantity.

It must be an average but who knows what that is.
