Well we are a two boat family now, my 24 ft Harris Kayot is parked and i just bought a 16 FT G3 side console jon boat with 40 hp yamaha and just opened my new Penn Spinfisher V 4500 new generation and spooled it with proline moss green 20 lb line and put it on a 7ft ugly stick and want to put in at bushy park and catch some trout and flounder… now (after the bragging lol:clown_face:) my question is what in your opinion is the best rigging for bottom fishing for flounder in the offchutes of the cooper.
thanks, looking forward to being able to go up some of the streams or lower areas of the cooper to fish,i could not put my other boat in at Bushy Park on low tide, now i can, i would like to get some suggestions on fishing for flounder in those areas, like what type of rigging etc. just waiting on the weather to break to try it all out,
I’m sure there are others with more expertise but I would suggest in that area to scout it at low tide and look for small feeder creeks that have a little firmer bottom rather than pluff mud. Fish slow along the bottom artificial or carolina rigged mud minnows or finger mullet.
that is what i am looking for, should i slow troll or sit and cast or just let it stand in the water close to the bottom with a bobber, what baits to use etc, i am learning and have been reading and looking on you tube but have not seen anything related to fishing the feeder creeks, and i feel that would be a good place to fish but i can’t ,really say why, maybe because i have often trolled by them and wondered what was up there because i have not been able to travel up them with my bigger boat, now that i will be able to go up them how do i fish them and should i fish for flounder up them or trout or reds or what , so any advise or suggestions are appreciated, and if i am wasting my time fishing them i would like to know as well, most of my prior fishing experience has been dragging an electric chicken up and down the river, and i have enjoyed it and i have caught several trout and a couple of flounders…
i would gladly take him and his dog along, my hiring a guide is like looking in a Ranger Bassboat catalog, just can’t afford it, i have been reading his posts and find them informative and fun. i’ve been on you tube all morning, and it is amazing what you can waste your time on,lol, i am learning some things about the carolina rig i did not fully understand bvefore. and how to rig them for different circumstances
