fishing recommendation- new england

going to be in Boston and new haven toward the end of august. Does anyone have any recommendation for a guide/charter for fishing for something? Blues, stripers, sharks, tuna, basically anything with fins.

The Boston aquarium is nice, but I can’t seem to sneak a spinning rod in.

i dont know about fishing up there…but sneaking is another story…get you an “instant fisherman”…fits nice in ya pocket.

Keep casting.

Yeah I just moved here from Boston. I highly recommend Eric from Hairball Charters out of Falmouth. I’ve gone striper fishing and tuna fishing with him several times and was never let down. He has some striper grounds that the average fish is around 17 lbs and we’ve caught a few over 40 lbs. As far as tuna goes there is a pretty good bluefin bite especially on light tackle but we also get a great false albacore and bonito run. I dont have have his phone number anymore but he won’t be hard to find.

A great time to find yft’s between the dump and aquarium.

Stripers and blue will work the shoals with the tide

thanks for the input. Looks like I have 2 trips to the area- 1 to Conn end of august and 1 to Marblehead mid august. Falmouth may be a bit too far out the way.

In New London or Waterford there are plenty of charters which go to a place they call “the Race”. It is loaded with stirper and blues and the action is fun…This is about 40 minutes form New Haven right off I-95

looks like a tropical system will prevent any fishing plans. Here’s a site that I found helpful- Connecticut charter and party boat association.
