Fished shallow in the backs of creeks from Hollow to Rocky to Buffalo …
Nothing much to report …
Marked a bunch of fish, but was only able to get one 23" to bite …
Kept him around to see if there were anymore willing dinner guests, but there were no other takers …
Guess it was his lucky day so we released him …
Nice day out on the water except that fog was super thick in the morning - couldn’t see 5 feet in front of the boat out in the main water all the way back into the creeks … Without the Chartplotter there was no way anyone could find their way around …
Other reports were that yesterday was a tough day fishing … but I’m sure there are a few pros out there that got on them and had a good day …
Finding the fish has always been a challenge for us … Guess we gotta work harder at finding them … Guess that means more water time

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

I didn’t do squat either, but it sure beat hanging around the house watching TV marathons! That was one beautiful day for early Jan.

At least you were out there. I spent the day replacing rollers & cable pulleys on our garage door and other misc. honey-do stuff.

It was so slow that I remembered to take a pic of your handiwork … I will post it under a separate thread … Great Job
The only thing that I can report about fishing yesterday was that I caught this bass on a downrod with a live gizzard shad fishing about 45’ down in 50’ of water. That’s the deepest that I’ve ever caught a bass and I figured out that I’ve been fishing all wrong for them all these years.
4 lbs. 2 oz. according to my digital Berkley scales.

Yep, that’s it. Thanks Rick, but why didn’t it work for me? Its not like I’ve never posted a picture before. I’m perplexed. But I like yours better. Makes my fish look way bigger than 4 lbs.

Yeah, now that you mention it … it does look a lot bigger than it did on my phone when you sent it yesterday … But then again I am looking at it through dual 27" monitors … LOL
Rick, just curious what you had to do? I have seen that when I try and post a pic it doesn’t like the <filename>.jpg if the <filename> has special characters…if so, I have to rename it…wondering if that was the same issue

Edit: just looked and saw Charles Original file had a “_” in it

I just emailed to myself from the phone and uploaded it … I didn’t change anything … The file I uploaded also had underscores in the filename …
See, here - I’ll do it again …

LOL…actually it was dry that night…that was from towing a net

Rick, that’s what I did/do. Tim might be on to something with the special characters, though. Might just have to try that.

By the way, who is that guy with the baby spottail? Haha.
Nice fish, Tim.

When did the DNR stock Murray with spottais!, Nice fish tho.
Tim, you are definitely on to something about the name. I renamed my photo and uploaded it. It worked and here it is.

Rick’s version still makes it look much bigger.
I know, this is the rockfish forum. Not the …well you know.
