Took a day with yet another rough start … Had to get the kids to school so that set us back an hour … 3/4’s of the way there I realized that I forgot both of our nets (bait and catch) so I stopped at Captain’s Choice and bought 2 more nets … grrrrrrrrrrrr …
I get to Barstow and back the boat down to the water … dead battery … AGAIN … Again, I drag out the jumper cables and jump off the boat and this time I yank the fuses for the radio and the amp - done with those 2 - again, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr …
So now, by the time I get the boat in the water it’s after 10am … so I’ve missed the better part of the morning bite …
I pull around right there at the ramp to get my bearings and dial in the new Lowrance …

Now where was I … oh yeah, Barstow … looped the mouth twice and picked up 2 keepers 23 & 24.5 and had a couple pull downs …
Pulled up and went around the corner to Spring Creek and pulled around there a couple of times … the first time we’ve fished that area and found no bait in the creek … We did manage to pull in a couple more - one of which I lost at the boat because I was too lazy to get the net and tried to pick him up over the side - my bad - nice fish with a shiny new piercing in the top of his mouth - enjoy …
Pulled up again and went down to #4 and pulled around there … again zero bait in the area … by now it was getting late so we pulled up and went back to Barstow and pulled around in there one more time … Pulled in 2 more 25.5 and 26.5 … We really didn’t expect to catch the last two, but we had the bai
