Fishing Report 12-4

Launched out of #4 around 5:45 into the thick fog with Steverino. Never went much above idle, would have been completely lost without gps. Lots of bait in the cove to #4. Went up into the mouth of the big saluda, not much there this time. pulled planers, freelines and downlines around the point and up into the little S. Picked up one keeper. Pulled up and went to Hawleek. Pulled bait around the mouth and all the way back to the ramp. Picked up 3 more keepers. Fish were all fat as could be. Biggest fish was 26" and was as round as a football. Nothing spectacular, but not bad for night fishing in the winter. Only one fish came with the lights on (hydroglow and LED’s), so far this year the lights are not pulling bait to the surface and seem to be keeping fish away. Caught fish on down, free and planers. Got herring from lake world, small but nice and lively.

Nice report … I wonder if the fishing is any better at night versus the morning … Not sure which would be colder … LOL … Night fishing has the added benefit of not being run over by idiots, but day fishing is warmer (theoretically) and longer I would think … What time did you guys stop fishing?

it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish now!!!

Last night was plenty warm, so was the Friday before Thanksgiving. I would say morning fishing is better, but nights work out better for me. Plus I never saw another boat last night. I kind of like that. Last night we got back to the dock a little before 11:00. On the 22nd I fished until 2:00.
