Okay so we fished in Striperskiff’s friendly TX on Saturday and it was a crazy lead up to the morning of … The weather forecast called for 50% chance of rain but the winds were forecasted to be between 1-5 from 6am to noon …
Liz had to work so I was bringing Erika and RJ along to fish the TX … For those of you who know I have a Sea Pro 2100CC with no cover … it does have a Bimini, but it’s positioned such that it interferes with the fishing so I never use it … I figured I needed to break it out and attach it to the front of the boat but I had to track down hardware …
So I spent Friday evening measuring and installing new hardware to move the Bimini to the front of the boat … because I had to do that I wasn’t able to get bait in advance so I had to get up at 4:00am to pre-prep the boat and be at Ned’s to pick up bait by 5:00am …

As we were leaving and I was getting everything started I realized that I had the wrong Navionics chip in the FF so I had to call Liz to bring me the correct chip so by the time we got underway it was already almost 6:00am …
About a mile into our run I realized that I didn’t have any of my nav lights on so I had to stop the boat and put the lights up and run to our first spot …
So we get to our first spot and as I’m putting out the trolling motor RJ pipes up with, ‘You know what we forgot?’ … and I frantically race through my mental checklist as I turn around to look at him … not wearing his life jacket … I know it’s not ‘the law’ but it is a family boating rule that any child under the age of 12 and/or anyone who cannot swim, must wear a life jacket when the big motor is running … fortunately we had the life jacket he just didn’t have it on …
So by now all I want to see is fish on the screen …
Now my plan for the day was a simple one …
I wanted to start on the western point of Bomb with
