Wasn’t going to go fishing last yesterday, but Riff is having some engine problems and wanted some backup on the lake yesterday evening …
So Liz and I grabbed some bait from JC’s and hit the lake around 7:30 … We put in a Hall Mark Shores and ran down to the Spence Islands …
We made one pull from Spence to the Towers running the edge of the main river channel …
We ended up with 8 in the boat ranging from 20" to 27" with most being around 21-22 inches … We also lost 4 with 3 of them being solid hookups and reel time … The fish just … came off … no tackle failure - the fish just seemed to slip the hook … oh well …
We kept a couple for dinner and the rest kicked off to swim another day … was actually impressed with the strength of the fish … once they hit the water they were gone in an flash - looks good for the survival rate …
Lake was picture perfect … hardly any boats out and the weather was very mild … All in all it was an outstanding evening to be on the water …
… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!
