Fishing Report - November to Date

okay … so now that the November TX is over I guess I can finally post a friggin’ report for the last few weeks …

Some of this information is going to be dated since it’s a couple of weeks old and conditions are changing rapidly on the lake …

Couple of weeks ago we fished the upper rivers areas and although we marked a ton of bait there really weren’t very many fish around yet …

We fished both rivers and only caught 5-6 fish between 4 to 7 pounds …

We then fished last weekend (November 9-10) in hopes of trying to locate something (anything) for the November MSC TX (15th) …

On the 9th we fished Crystal Lake … we’ve never really fished the area so our expectations weren’t very high …

Which is a good thing because I spent more time worrying about our boat than fishing …

On our way into Crystal Lake I wasn’t paying attention and went to the right of the shallow water markers when I should have gone to the left and I bent our prop before we ever get to our first spot to check out … the vibration was really bad at slow speeds so that really limited out ability to “scout” the list of areas I wanted to check out …

So we went all the way into the backs of the couple of creeks I could reach within my limited range and found no bait and caught nothing but LM Bass … everywhere … logs show we caught 4 in the first hour …

Since there wasn’t any bait in the backs we pushed out into the mouths and started marking fish …

We picked up 5 fish ranging between 4 and 10 pounds in deeper water (30 +/-) …

I didn’t want to spend all of my time in Crystal, but my range was limited so I slow rolled over to Plantation and pulled it in reverse (mouth to back) of what I did in Crystal …

We again caught more LM Bass (friggin things are everywhere) and were marking sporadic fish …

Then calamity No. 2 struck … one of my big freeline poles (Penn spinning on a Tiger Ugly Stick) went off and went off hard … the rod was in one of my back Trident pole holders an

Wow, you must type a lot faster than me! Your detailed reports are great. Your reports also show how much more comfortable you and Liz are becoming with the lake and how much more consistent you are catching. I would expect Liz to get that twenty. Time on the water is the main variable. You are fortunate to have that as a family activity.

.02 away from second place last week. Hope you didn’t cut a fin off to mark one!

No … but I’d be willing to bet that there’s more than .02 worth of fish poop in the bottom of our cooler after the fish were measured by Danny …

Funny thing, while he was measuring them and the fish poo was coming out I was joking with him about his measuring skills costing us points positions … little did I know … LOL …

Usually they would be measured and then placed on the scale to be weighed … poo and all … Guess that’s how it goes …

Great Report I will add to it in the am with my areas from the last week also. After all the tips I have picked up on here I will give a detailed report in the morning. Good Job Sat Team Stoneage.

No worries brother … Like I said, who knew … It’s really funny when you think about it … Especially since no ever places much importance on fish … poo …

Nice work Rick (and Liz and the gang). Both the write up and the results!
Seldom is anything worthwhile and satisfying easy (or cheap $$$)…and you proved it! Lol!

I knew pics were coming when I read an earlier post about Liz’s fish.
I just sat back, ate popcorn, and waited.

Now that the TX is over, the board should spark up a bit. Thanks for starting it.

Its during times of trials that our true passions and talents shine and this is a prime example. As I said last week do not let tx fishing ruin the fun and excitement we all enjoy catching Stripers! Let the cards fall where they will and enjoy each and every trip. Call me anytime tx or not and we will share “fish stories” lol! I am really proud of everything you and Liz have accomplished is such a short time. This will not be your last time on the podium!

Tight Lines!
