Thinkin bout hittin this Saturday am at Copahee if anyone is interested. Want to do an early trip (6am). Scot (or anyone else), you up for trying some more topwater? Anyone is welcome to join.
Tarpon,
Low tide is 0641, I don’t think you can get out at 0600. If I get out there it’ll probably be closer to 1000, I’ll keep an eye for ya.

Paddle faster boys… I hear banjo music!
you and i were there the same time (93-99). I’ve stopped in to see ya at “time out” before. you know my face maybe not my name.
can’t believe we never crossed paths down there though.
as far as low tide goes, i’m pretty sure i’ve had to launch and get back on dead low. i might be wrong. but there is definately no more than a half inch a water for a while.
I am up for it except that I will have to go later around 12-1pm as my son has a baseball game at 9am.

I guess that means you won’t see Archaegeo out there at low in his Revo.
Wish I could get out this weekend, my kitchen passes have been suspended until I get a sprinkler system installed. It’s a shame my wife didn’t think about this when it was COLD [:0]
So much water, So little time
You can get out at dead low, come on guys, are ya’ll afraid to get your feet wet???
Seriously though, the fishing sucks out there, I would suggest somewhere else, maybe the grillage!
DD
Really, there are no fish out there.
Go Buckeyes!!! No, Seriously, GO!!!
Not worried about wet feet, I’m just too lazy to drag the yak thru the mud.
Went out yesterday and only caught one dinner model. So I must concur with DD, the fishing sucks out here

I got out at Pitt St at dead low. It works, just have to be a paddle kayaker at that point. Havent gone out yet in water that would be skinny long enough to make me want to pull the drive completely.

arch, were you at Pitt street last friday peddling up under the old bridge to leave? somebody in a hobie passed under us. if that was you have you had any luck around there. I’m kinda confined to land right now due to storage issues with the yak.

I need to start keeping a log of where and when I was <grin>. No luck the day I went out, but a guy was doing really well from the bridge.
Ive not had luck yet period fishing, of course im going out with a single grub rigged line and just tossing it intermittantly. Gotta break down and buy a cork rig soon and do some life bait or DOA’s

so, are we fishin or what…bunch a sally’s I tell ya.
I will be there midday, about hightide I think , then fighting the thunder storms and dropping tide on the way back to get to the landing at low tide so we will have to walk in. Just bring a rope to pull your yak with and it is much easier ( cant take credit for this Jeff taught me that)Will be fishing to the Northern maze region of Copahee.
Y4Reds,
I’ll be there at 5:50am. I’ll be out until around noon so maybe I’ll see some of you guys on the way back in.

t120,
sorry dude. flat tire this morning??? i must have picked up one of those special oyster shells last night.
rain check???
I got out there around 1000. Had some good hits on the rising tide. Missed two really big ones that made it to the oyster beds Landed one at 26" almost 8lbs. And then came the wind. I finally called it a day at 2pm.

10-4 on the raincheck Yakin, sorry bout your tire. Was in the water around 6:30 (after making the long walk). Did bring a rope this time, that is definitely the way to go. It was pretty out, no wind, no gnats. Caught 4 trout. 3 trolling dark grub and 1 on topwater. My first topwater fish on the yak so it was a good day. Did have 1 break off…peeled some drag so think it was a decent red but will never know for sure.
Timbuck, I need to tag along with you, I can’t seem to find the reds…

Tarpon,
Just hang a right off the boat landing creek. Work the edge of the grass line all the way up. Heard a lot of big splashing in the grass today. Didn’t see any birds, soooo, but did not see any tailing.
It did seem the fish were more aggressive when they hit today. The first one that made it to the oyster bed was big and I could not stop or redirect that pig away from where he wanted to go. He ran off a bunch of line and did a 50 yard dash before I could get the rod out of the holder, bout scared the crap out of me cause I was getting ready to move spots. Hopefully a sign of good thing to come with the warmer weather.
Let me know when your coming back out this way, maybe we can hook up.
