Decided to run up the stono to some places we hadnt fished in a while. First thing I noticed was the water color change. Guess i forgot how different the stono can look from the harbor and beach areas.Always has a bit of a coffe stain esp. on low tide. Had also forgotten how bad the boat traffic…esp. the big boats…can be in the narrow waterway there, even worse on low tide. Needless to say…“our world got rocked” quite a few times.
Caught plenty of bait with little effort…shrimp mixed in size and a little biger than in the folly river…plenty of little finger mullet…even caught a 10 inch drum and a 8 inch flounder in two of my casts! They got a quick pardon back to the water. Fished half tide going out to low…ran out of bait by low tide and made another bait run…mmm…that stono mudd has such a wonderful taste:dizzy_face:…lol…donnie said I looked like a mud puppy once i had thrown a few times. Wore the reds out…then they wore us out. Fished 6 docks and all of them were holding…two brutes we saw roll on top of the water a couple times as we fought them… but could never get them to turn…strange how they seem to know just where those oysters are:imp:…lost count of all the reds we caught.but funny thing is…not one trout!
Had a great time and came home tired…and happy:smiley:. Gave the rest of our live bait to some folks fishing at the ramp on the way in.
heres a few pics…
love it when they have multiple spots…one i caught had 7 on one side
asked this guy if he’d had any luck…but couldnt get him to say too much…
I think these guys were saying…“shhh…if we dont look at them they wont see us fishing” haha
Taking all of Joe’s spots huh … he won’t be happy with you Pen
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Actually…we fished some docks we usually don’t fish…as the ones we usually fish are now covered with other people most of the time fishing them too…was very happy to find reds holding near. the ones we picked… Knowing joe I’m sure he has fished these too at one time or another. Got the shoes and purse at Tuesday morning and a consignment store west Ashley. …should have seen the looks when I walked in with my fish bag today ;)… My residents just laughed and laughed
Black Bart…I’m going to call him Esther…as he has been a bit "naggy " lately:smiley:
Thanks everyone! So no guess’s on the metal thing?
