Fishing Sunday??

Did anybody fish Saturday? We are heading out in the morning probably headed feom the Gap down to shull island bomb area. Any reports of schooling with this front? Thanks I will post results.

We didn’t see any schooling but had no trouble limiting between Wessinger and Shull, drifting down rods at 40-50 with freelines and spoons over the channel. 7 out of the 10 would keep next weekend with the biggest around 8 pounds.

Found some fish schooling early around the gap all shorts about 16 inches caught a quick 7 of them on topwater then headed out to deeper water marked fish at every spot but no takers NE wind made it tough.

I came out of Crystal Lake today, thru the Little Gap, and saw nine boats North of Osprey Island with everyone “chunking and winding”! Not too hard to figure out what’s happening there!

Do you know where Crystal Lake and the Little Gap are? Osprey Island is on the right after you pass Tall Island (heading toward the dam). There is an Osprey nest on a pole with a sign that says something to the effect of “Osprey nesting area, keep back 100 feet”. The boats were “chunking and winding” mostly pearl colored Flukes to schooling stripers, on the Timberlake side across from Osprey Island.

If that is not clear, please let me know. Sorry for the confusion.

Nice details in that post, Rick K. Very helpful to everyone reading. It’s so rare in this day and age of tournaments that you see a clear post pointing even newbies to the exact location and techniques needed to put a few fish in the boat. Thanks. (Of course, they might not be there anymore but it sure gives a guy an idea where to start. )

Also, if there were nine boats not messing up the school, sounds like proper fishing etiquette was taking place! There is hope. Good job everyone!
