I was wondering what some of you prefer to use to store your saltwater tackle??
I have had two of those bags from Wally World that hold the plastic trays and I will say they are very nice but the zippers sieze up & break due to the saltwater.
Planning on going to Bass Pro in Savannah next weekend & see what they have.
Thanks for any input on this!

If you have the space under the console, use a milk crate and stack the plastic trays in that. I have a couple of the Flambeau AZ series bag and have not had any issue with the zippers. I keep the bags in they dry storage most of the time and they never get sprayed with saltwater.

i use a heavy hardware bag that you can find at lowes or home depot. big enough to hold plenty of the plastic trays and extra stuff, but much stronger than the wal mart nylon bags that took me a year of nothing worse than normal use to wear down and break. havent had zipper trouble and its been dominated by a wave or 2 from a big ship in the surf, but my phone, wallet, … inside were 100% dry and fine.
Get a Plano Guide Series hard box. They hold 4 large Plano boxes that slide out from the front and large open compartment on the top that will hold a small box or two and pleny of other stuff (knife, pliers, etc.) It also has a smaller compartment on the outside of the top where we keep extra jigs, hooks, sinkers, swivels, beads and stuff for quick access without having to pull out one of the boxes. The small compartment is divided into several sections.
I went through a couple of the bags and hated them because my tools would always get wet in the rain if I just stuck them in the outside pockets. With the hard box everything stays dry and it actually costs less than some of the soft tackle bags.

x2 I had trouble holding all my gear in the smaller plastic tray’s, bought a Plano tackle box and fit all of my gear. If I’m going on a smaller trip I will take the necessary gear out of those, put it in 2 small plastic tray’s and throw them in a backpack(if I’m going to the beach).

I’m so salt life I sued google earth for giving away all of my fishing spot’s.
I have one from Cabela’s that has served me well, no issue with the zippers. They did get a little sticky after a spray. I just rinsed well and rubbed on a little bit of the lubricant that I have for the boat cushion snaps (West Marine) and no more problems.
I use a plano tackle bag i bought a few years ago. only prob was a seam came undone but stitched that with some sinew.
I have the llarger plano tackle bag in the fishaflauge color from walmart. Holds 4 plano plastic trays. I keep my gear in that and when I fish I load all the gear for a day in a seperate plastic tray and plastic bags. I like the milk crate in the console idea. I use a double sided plano box for my fly box

I have been using my Bronwing tackle bag for about 3 years and I love it except for the fact that it is a little heavy. They sell them at Bass Pro so check them out there.
Three-fourths of the Earth’s surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
