My sister just bought a camper and plot there at the Apache pier. I’m thinking of taking a trip up there maybe in early October.
Do the spots still run up there in the fall nicely? When would you suggest? Also, what is being caught up there now, if anyone knows?
The last time I went to the Apache was a LONG time ago.

Usually mid-Oct the spot run is on up that way. If weather gets cool early and is consistent it can come sooner. Mid - Oct (2nd-3rd wk) would be a safer bet on the spots.
I have a friend coming down near the end of September for some fishing, but I think we’ll stick to the soda can jon boat for now.

The Surf fishing is great that time of year. I lived in Surfside many years ago and we would catch a great asortment of fish from Surf,Pier and the boat, as I recall fishing for flonder around the Piers and Surf was always better in the Fall.Like the others said that is when the Spot fishing was good. Get a bag of Bloodworms, cut into about 1/2 inch pieces thread on a # 7 long shank hook you can drop two or three hooks at a time and catch that many Spots. When they hit the worm it slides up the hook just move back down and get you some more. One bag of Blood worms would last all day and we would have plenty fish for the neighbors and just have a hoot catching and releasing them. Best of luck.
