Has anyone fished the Bahamas recently…or heard any reports from fishing the Bahamas? I have a buddy in the Keys who wants me to come down and go with him in his boat over to the Bahamas for a few days of fishing. I would like to get a report before I commit to such a trip.
Hwilcox, don’t do it! Edsistofisher said Tuesday was going to be a great day offshore. The offshore bite has been AWESOME for the past few weeks. Give me a call, Chunky will be looking for a crew and you always have a place on the All Rise.

I’m in the bahamas now…Grand Bahamas to grand cay. Dolphin fishing is better in Charleston, Tuna are sporadic but man I’ve seen some BIG FRIKIN TUNA caught here. Heard of two marlin caught in the past week by Turtle Cay. Beautiful place, great snorkeling, been very windy.
wolfman…where are you staying…we are coming cross the end of the month from charleston…been reading some reports that they are killing the phins…will be over around GTC or TC/MH area 28th or 29th or 30th depending on the weather
I just want the chance to prove money cant make me happpppppy
We were staying at Old Bahama Bay at the west end and spent a couple nights moored in a cove off of Grand Cay by Rosie’s… great time. Ended up catching a nice White Marlin on Friday…flew back today. My friend is staying there another week on his boat. Met a BUNCH of great people, some right here from Charleston! As stated earlier the tuna bite was sporadic, we missed the whole trip. Off of Mantinilla seemed to be the spot for BIG black fin. When we went, we got blown out by weather. We caught the Marlin 10 miles straight out from Freeport. Get out early and look for birds. The charters there never seem to even leave the docks until at least 7am. They still have to run 20-30 miles to Mantinilla. If you get out before them you have the whole ocean to yourself for awhile.
Old Bahama Bay was a great marina, friendly staff. Gas was $3.80 a gallon…Rosies was $4.80. So a good day of fishing is a grand easy.
The boats there were incredible. It was nice to get to the airport after 10 days and see some hot tuna (if you know what I mean!!!)
the bite here has been on… I hope the bite is good in freeport in June, we have a diving trip planned with one flexible offshore trip. Cant wait. Thanks for the report
