Decided to fish folly today since I had to make it a short day…12hr night shift tonight…bit my fingers and paced the floor until donnie and roo decided they had “slept in”. I offered to go it alone and let them “rest”…no way they said…we want to go with you……so I banged cabinets and made a lot of noise…accidently of course…until they got up. “why honey…why didnt you sleep a little longer I asked”
…so we are in the water by 0830(half the day gone to me:wink:)…four casts and a bucket of shrimp to go with the fiddlers… Stil lots of little shrimp around the folly too…and lord have mercy you should have seen the size of the mullet I caught in my 2nd cast! 11 about 12-14 inchs long!! quickly dumped back over but not before they stunk my net up pretty good:dizzy_face:…
Started fishing docks not occupied by homeowners. nothing on the first two…then found one that i pulled 8 reds off of before I got a small sheephead. nice fat fish…not huge…biggest being about 23 inches…but all fat fat fat…probablly been stealing other peoples fiddlers too. werent taking the shrimp donnie was using…no…just my fiddlers…but since that is a large part of their diet…
owners of that dock came out with coffee…i apologized for occupying their space…they were very gracious…even told us to fish all we wanted to there…real nice folks…but we moved on so they could enjoy their morning. next dock…lots of scrapings on the pilings…but no fish except a toad fish. Switched to shrimp and grubs and pulled a few trout ranging from 9 to 2o inchs…donnie caught the 20 incher on a fiddler!
Pilingsin the folly look like corn cobs that the corn has been chewed off of from all the fish seekers out there:smiley:…wonder if we could start a piling cleaning service.
not many fish pics today as when they were biting didnt have a lot of time…but did get a few other pics. Beautiful day today…water was super clear…already counting the hours until i get off on monday for two days!
