A few years ago, a friend of mine told me about fishing in the long, narrow pond that is in front of Lake Marion’s dam (close to Harry’s fish Camp, but on the other side of the Santee river).
I can’t remember what it’s called— something like “quarry pond” or “rock pond” or “stump pond”, but it looks like a great place to take my boy.
There is a ramp there— but is it open to the public, or is it gated by Santee-Cooper?
It’s called the “Bar Pit”, or the “Borrow Pit”. And the last time I was down there, the ramp at the north end was still open to the public.
I’m Lost. I’ve Gone to look for myself. If I should return before I get back, PLEASE ask me to wait.
…
Yes, that’s it, I remember now. Now I just wonder if it’s worth the drive considering how much closer Spiers and Duck Pond are to me…
