Water temp was 60.2 in most spots I went to.However the trout could not be found.I caught one dink in 7 Trout spots that usually produce for Me.I threw several plastics with The only dink of the day caught on the Elec Chicken.Water was clear in spots to 4 feet. When We caught a Red on a frozen squid the temp in that spot was 61.8.With the warmer water i expected more fish??? Gnats were terrible but the wind picked up around 11 and it turned out to be a great day.I will take another wack at it maybe Monday.Wife is going on a trip so I will be on the water every good day.
I’m sorry you struck out, but I have to be honest and admit it encourages me. I’ve been having no success on the Stono lately. Have become quite discouraged, but at least I’m not the ONLY one. I’m a pretty bad fisherman and working hard to improve on that, but too many days without fish can sorta take the life out of you. A number of recent days have been like yours: multiple spots, 1 trout. Almost all on artificial, but last time out I used minnows but caught 0 with them. Ah, well. Hopefully the spring will bring some fish into the boat and the work I’m putting in through the winter will pay off then.
I encourage you guys to join the Stono River Fishing Club.Meeting is tonight at 7pm at the West Ashley Outboard motor club site at 7pm,.Call me if you want to come and need directions.Pizza for dinner tonight cell is 437 7006.
