Fishing This Evening (Tues)

Looks like an increased chance of storms the next few days, so I’m going to put in for a few hours this evening. don’t feel like messing with getting bait…just troll a bit and try and hopefully snag a fish or 2.

If anyone wants to go, I’m putting in at the dam about 7:30 or so and fishing till about 10.

Tim, if you don’t have a boat full yet I would like to go.

Joby, see you there at 7:30. I’ll contact you if anything changes, but I’m getting off soon and don’t expect any hold ups.

Marked a bunch suspended in the big water, but only picked up 2…a 22" and a 24".

Fish were scattered at all different depths from 30’ - 65’ . That will probably change soon as the water stratifies and creates a distinct thermocline. Caught the 1st one at 52’ early on and then the 2nd later on at about 33’. Beautiful evening with some good company.

looks like the forecast is for another beautiful evening today with low chance of storms …mmmmmmmmm

Dang it … wish I had seen this yesterday …

Let me know if you want to go out again this evening … We have to get back into the freshwater groove after 10 days of salt … LOL

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

Rick, did you have a good saltwater trip?

It was a great night on the water last night. I had not trolled in a long time and it was a nice change. Thanks to Tim for letting me tag along.

We caught Mahi, Black Grouper, Red Grouper, Yellowtail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Cobia, Sea Bass, Bonita, Barracuda, Tarpon … pretty sure I’m missing a few other species … We ended up putting 100+ pounds of meat in the freezer …

Add that to 90 - 100 pound Tarpons and a very happy Wife …

I can’t complain (except that it didn’t last long enough) … HA

After seeing so many videos of tarpon cut in half by sharks, I don’t think I would want to stand in the water holding one. But congrats on the nice fish!

Sounds like a great trip. You will really have to put Liz on some good stripers after that catch.
