Yep…that’s right…penny forgot to put the battery in her camera so no pics…I know all of you are saying…wooooooooohooo:wink: right! Lol
But we did catch fish…and tons of trash fish.
Good thing we had plentry of bait!
Trout were scattered today…but we caught a few along several oyster banks and mouths of creeks…mostly in 3 foot of water or so…and most of them on the bottom Carolina rig style with live shrimp…a few with grubs. The oysters made it a little
tough on the grub use…but still managed to catch a few. There seem to be a lot of little reds around…and they are real fighters that’s for sure!!!..sometimes you feel like you have a monster on the other end only to find a feisty little fifteen incher! No flounder today…but did manage to catch seven…yes I said seven stingrays.and .two had no tails!..a puffer fish.toad fish, couple blue fish, little Spanish mackerel, a huge lizard fish… lost count of the pinfish and spots…but the biggest bites of all came from the GNATS,!…they were ferocious! So bad that at one point I stuck pieces of napkins up my nose and in my ears to which Donnie laughed and said " so. Guess at least now you won’t hear or smell them coming"…then I realized that with my nose all stuffed full of paper I couldn’t breathe…took a big breath through my mouth and I’m sure my teeth looked like they were full of “gnat pepper”!
. Saw birds diving like crazy in the bay near botany and all of a sudden something launched from the water and then came crashing down! Wasn’t a dolphin…was long and skinny, and I swear it looked kinda orange -pink in color…Donnie saw the huge splash but not whatever it was…I could only stand there and stare with my mouth open…and suck in more gnats in the process:smiley:. Saw a few folks setting out poles for shrimp as we headed in right before dark. A man at the ramp asked his wife why she couldn’t back a trailer like me…to which she said to him…"well why can’t you be as quiet and well m
