Fishing today

Left my dock at 0800 all ready to chase redfish.End result after 7 hours of fishing.NOTHING!! One 4 foot shark that hit a crab chunk and 3 rays.Water temp was 91 to 93 every place we went.Called it a day around 4pm.:frowning_face:

Sorry to hear that… we had no luck on Friday on the Stono. So, today we changed tactics and headed to harbor. Spent 8:30 to 2:30 going spot to spot and ended with one sting ray, one flounder and one 18" redfish. At least we’re having fish for dinner!

Hate to hear that. My guys caught reds at will for two hours on live shrimp on the first half of the ebb. Doubled up constantly until the oysters started showing. Haddrell’s had some studly shrimp this am. It did shut down pretty hard when the tide got low.

Based on historic water quality studies in the upper Stono the disolved O2 content this time of year goes to about 3.5 which barely sustains life and contributes to the loss of released fish (in my experience) due to to stress and handling. I expect if you are struggling for oxygen your appetite is decreased, somewhat closer to the ocean should be somewhat better.

I agree but I hate to ride 20 miles one way and burn up gas.

Stonoman

Nothing for the last week or two on the Folly River but plenty of whiting and just under slot spottails on the beach. Not to mention the bird watching- just yesterday I saw several pert-breasted disc flingers
