My (almost) 4 year old son wants to go out to the Charleston 60 with us.
Does he add another BSB limit to our total we can bring back?
I’m not taking him just to add to our limit, but I do love the taste of those BSB and want to know if we can bring five more back if he goes with us. I know he would have a blast.
(We will not be taking the flats boat, so don’t worry about that. )

Matt, hopefully he won’t have that problem, but motion sickness runs on his mom’s side of the family. I am thinking about the CNR first just in case. He has been in the harbor in some slightly rough stuff with no problem.

I just remember the sickest person I’ve ever seen (from sea sickness) was about 7 years old. All the poor kid could do was bury his face in his dads lap and moan.
I also found out “the hard way” that taking canned viennas doesn’t go over too well with folks in your party who are “on the edge but not quite there”. I love good salty, greasy food when offshore or out in a lake, but apparently just the sight of them will send a few people over the edge in a hurry lol.

if i can tell someone is on the edge while offshore, i just ask em to grab me a ballyhoo out of the cooler… that usually does the trick… might as well get it over with

can you swim 5 miles? “NO” then what is the difference in 5 miles and 50 miles!!! Go for it!
The last year you could keep a snowy per person, we had some fish that we kept that were almost as big as the anglers…ha ha…fugggg em…how does the law read.??
The law has serious teeth. The fines are serious and can even cost you your boat and all the equipment. Someone will take a big fall as an example. I’m sure the LEO community knows who just about everybody on here is - I don’t think I would have said that.

I’ve seen many fish caught that were much larger than the angler, and the angler was an adult. What does that have to do with the legalities?
I’m sure most of the DNR know me, we’ve met on the water and I’ve got nothing to hide A 4 year old kid is a person and if he can hold the rod his limit counts.

We got checked this year & last year shad fishing & green jeans checked our cooler & asked if we knew the limit? I said 10 per person & since it was my son & me we are keeping 20. He said that’s right & have a nice day.
I had a problem last year. It was me my buddy and two kids. We had a three person limit of bsb a 4 person limit of grouper and handful of triggers and 6 cobia.
I was stopped coming through port royal. It was rough and I asked to run to the creek behind the island. He followed us there and then boarded
One boarded and inspected our fishboxes. He told the other guy that we were over limit on three species. I asked him how he arrived at that copnclusion. He said that the kids were not included in federal limits. I told him he was wrong and that they were anglers. He then told me they had to be over 12 to be included for limits and then said that they had to have a license.
By this time we rafted up the other boat and the other officer looks in the box does some quick math and tells the other guy " We are good here " They untie and wish us a nice day.
He basically said that they one guy was newish and spends more time working the freshwater
