Fishing with the GF

Today was one of those few times a year when i can get the gf to go fishing with me. Normally she catches the big fish when we go out but today ended up being quality time on the water. We started out fishing a small private lake in the morning but it was already covered up with heavy weeds. I ended up with a couple of decent blue gill and a few bass but the lake was way to overgrown. We packed it up and decided to try Goose Creek Reservoir.
This was my first time up there and I was surprised how deep the edges were and how stained the water was in that lake. Even right up against the bank near the vegetation the water was close to 4 or 5 feet in most places! I wasn’t really sure what to throw because the water was so stained I stuck with noise and vibration with minimal success. Is the water always that stained and what do you guys throw up there? Worms seemed like they would be impossible to see unless they went right by the nose of the fish and and most places my trebles seemed to catch weeds out of nowhere. It was very weird because it seemed like the vegetation was floating through the middle of the water column and not attached to live plants. All and all though it was a great day and I was glad she shared the water with me today.

Got ya a couple good looking bass

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Is that your new 12 foot PA that the girlfriend is in.

Good for you getting the gf out. Once for our anniversary my wife said she would go kayak fishing with me if I got a pedicure with her. That was 5 yrs ago and she still hasnt gone and I think the poor girl that gave me the pedi still hasnt recovered.

In water like that I have good luck with swimming bass jigs with a trailer with a lot of movement or a wacky rig senko with a rattle in the one tip.
