Took the wife out fishing today and while don’t think she will ever enjoy the fishing as much as me she still had a pretty good time.
Her first saltwater fish was a Bonnet Head shark about 3 feet and then we ended the day with about 6 trout and one nice spanish mackerel. In spite of feeding the blue fish population was a pretty good day.
Was looking to put her on a good size bass and figure she would get the bug, but did not even see any to spoke today.

Glad to hear your heading down her Cut, hate to say I will be having surgery on my shoulder 3 July and will not be in a kayak for countless weeks.
Cut every time a fish came close to her kayak she started to yell at me to get the camera. I have seen her loose some nice brown trout out west because she would try to land the fish and get the camera out at the same time.
Arch it took years to get my wife into fishing. First time I had her fishing was on a fresh water lake we had by the house. Gave her a 3wt fly rod and a topwater popper. She was excited with the first fish she caught but when she landed the fish and saw it there was no way she was going to touch that bream. Then a about eight years ago we moved out west and she would come watch me fish and I was able to start her out fishing for fresh water trout. As soon as she caught one she was hooked and now she looks forward to our fly fishing trips each year.
Arch if I recall you live in the CHS area, but anytime you want to head down to Beaufort give me a shout and will try to do a little fishing with you. Although it needs to be before 3 July.

...hmmm...a one armed pilot...?
Hope your surgery goes well!
I’m 50/50 right now…got to wait and see what’s happening at work…they got me jumping around on some re-models so I’m not sure where or how much I will be needed.

needed, your ■■■■ right your needed!..if you don’t show, then how’s your smoker going to make it to Hunting Island?
Mud it does help to have both arms to fly but most of all need my left arm on the ground to use the tiller to turn the jet while taxing. Usually have the First Officer do most of the work while I sit over there and read.
In fact the first thing I tell my First Officers before we take off is that I better not wake up and catch them sleeping.
Wife keeps telling me that I’m not going to do anything but sit on my butt and get better…figure after about 3 days I will be going crazy sitting in the house. So might try to sneak out and listen to some of Cut’s lies about all the fish he catches.

s1tpilot,
I am thinking about taking off a couple of day that first week of July. Maybe we can hook up for a quick “ville” trip before your surgery. Let me know.
Good luck and take the rehab seriously. Had my shoulder “fixed” in '04 and it’s still not right. At the time I was driving a '70 Ghia with my arm that was supposed to be in a sling. That was enjoyable

Jimmy Buffett can have Margaritaville, I’m going to Redfishville!
Yeah take that rehab seriously… TB2’s shoulder makes all kinds of weird sounds that sound like it should hurt…[:0] My shoulder got jacked up in Iraq and it’s been 2 years now and althought the doc says it’s “ok” it still ain’t right…
Would like to take you up on the offer but have to stay close to home that week, since I’m on call the first part of the week. If you can make it to the Beaufort area, would be happy to take you out and hit some of the areas around here.

cut catching fish?..that’ll be the day!
Norm…whats the deal?..are you going to make it?..do we need to buy a smoker or not?[:0]…
Mud I’m surprized that you would question the fishing abilities of our friend cut. Cut has always told me what a great fisherman he is…although now that I think about it I don’t recall him actually catching anything.
