Well I’ve been able to fish a few days in the last week and the week before and have been doing pretty well.
Nothing of huge sizes but lots of slot size reds, a few trout, whiting ,shark and a flounder.
Hasn’t been a day that I’ve been out where I didn’t catch anything…so fortunate for me I have been “.fishing” and “catching”
Tons of bait in the creeks now with some nice size shrimp on the flats and in the mouths of creeks as well as big minnow size baby mullet which the trout seem to love.
Threw the cast net in one creek and had enough minnows to fill 4 minnow buckets had I wanted to.
I kept the biggest fattest ones and the others got a pass. Manhadden popping everywhere.
Saw a fellow Cf’er and his wife walking the beach who saw me with the bait. Lol…they recognized Roo:smiley:…and stopped by.
I guess Roo is a celebrity of sorts.
I’m going crabbing with daddy tommorow…and will take pics. Have been a couple other times lately but my new lap top is a pain in the butt for posting for some reason…I get half way through and it dumps me.

Came to a area I wanted to fish one of my favorite docks Thursday…charter Capt there with one client fishing it on the perfect tide. I have been fishing this dock for years and know there’s one honey spot on a edge that you have to hit just right for a consistent bite…and can honestly say I have never been skunked there…so I mosied on by and fished the bank a good ways down but within sight …just in case they left:wink:…watched them fish both sides of the dock for a hour…but not in my sweet spot there…I managed to catch a flounder, a ray , a small trout, a whiting and a little shark where I was…and I waited patiently… Just as I was about to give up the anchor was pulled and they left…1200… Maybe a half day charter? Well i waited a few more minutes and moved in…anchoring and drifting back a ways to be positioned off the end of the floating dock.where I began dropping a line and letting it drift down and deep…soon as it hit bottom…ba

good time fishing for you Penny!
and that hydration fluid is soooo good it will flip your world upside down!!

Nice report Penny. Glad you’re able to throw in some fun. Funny about that sweet spot.

Good report.Good results.

Funny how fish are …there are docks where one piling does better than others…where one side can be same depth as other…but fish bite differently on one side…and wow what a difference the tide stage can make in just a few minutes.
I thnk fish are a whole lot smarter than we give them credit for…except for maybe letting their stomachs outwit their brains
The ones who have been caught before will make you do some type of break dance trying to keep them from breaking you off…
I respect Mr. fish…and even when they get the best of me you have to respect that they outwitted a human
It’s a blessing to be able to fish

Its amazing, especially with redfish, how they can be stacked in a very small area. Cast either side…nothing. Cast into the hole. Fish after fish… Great report Pen!

penny, you’re a little slice of everything that is right with the world. we are better for knowing you. i’m running out of words, but thank you for your virtual friendship

also - there’s a triple secret protip in you post “People sometimes fish the actual docks so hard they forget to fish the floaters out front where I think the fish like to lay in wait…”

Thanks for posting that great report !

That was me you met on the beach. Pleasure was all mine. Donnie gave me a few pointers about fishing this side of town, which I immediately stored in the vault. Sounds like you had a great day.
