Five Fathom Creek exit

Going to be staying at some family’s house in a couple weeks in McClellanville. Looking to head out to some nearshore reefs to entertain the kids a time or two and was wondering how it is to get out of Five Fathom Creek? Is it like many inlets where it’s really rough at the mouth and you have to choose your way through sandbars? Or is it a straight shot out and not much to worry about?

Thanks for any info!

It’s marked. The shrimp boats use it. Don’t get the intracoastal markers confused.

Thanks, how is it wave-wise? Is it calm if not windy or is it a rough sandbar crossing?
