Fl keys trip, pine island

My brother and I left last Saturday for a 5 day fishing/ camping trip to Bahia honda. We thought we did our research, but like anything else ,if you aint done it … One of us landed 3 baby tarpons, I got skunked on the poons. We did catch snapper, baraccuda, 1 grouper… and a bunch of stuff i didn’t know what was. We had the pleasure and frieght of having a couple Giant poons swim around our kayaks along with seaturtles and a manatee. The wind was really bad for the yak-bridge for the big boys we had planned, but we found a shallow tarpon hole that held fish at most tides (only managed 1 15lb fish).
Blue crabs are 4.25$ each!, pin fish is 1.50 each! Being from our background we figured it out. Pinfish are easy to get with a net and the crabs there are really easy to pick up with landing net, thou not as plentiful…
We fished the canals and mangrove banks, channes on no-name, pine island with topwater, swimbaits, crabs, pinfish, live shrimp (3$ dozen:)
