well… yesterday morning after listening to thee pirate and my other buddy whine about how it was going to be a terrible and rough day offshore we finally left shem creek at about 8:15 into the pea soup fog. i kept telln it would be nice… but noooo. cleared the fog bank about 2 miles outside the jetties and decided to go south. saw some whales on the way out in the distance but never got a close look. hit 4 spots all day including a new one we found. ended up with right at a 100lbs of grp and reds, and 70lbs of cbass. ocean was flat and we never went past 95 foot. would of loved to have gone further but we didnt top off the tank due to the doubts about even going out. another great day on the pond.
4 gags
2 red grp
2 red snaps
3 limits of cbas
handful of bliners, trigs, grunts
too bad theepirates double secret quail chasing career is going to interupt our fishing… we will be lost w/o him. fortunately he will be back to let us know when we can go catch a topside critter.
no pintails saw a few and made a dashing effort but it was just not good enough. gasmonkey jr bought a new toy and did let many a round fly through it when we were out there… pesky sharks
i think the new Carla Dee will be a much better platform for such activities; the 440 yanmars humm the pintails to sleep so that you can creep on them at 33 knots, or so i’ve been told…
is that a done deal? hope so, love the cc’s but the right company on a nice bote is dam hard to beat, especially if the pintails like it. call ya friday when i get back from wherever
Paul, the deal is not done… sent you a link to the listing… check your email. rode the boat last weekend… very nice. hopefully it will be closed next weekend, assuming no issues w/ the survey.
