Flats 05-11-2014/05-12-2014 OTF

My fourth trip out to the flats this year and by a long shot, the best weather. 5.7 with light winds. Found the fish lazy and willing to hang out and have their picture taken. The tailing certainly isn’t on fire yet, but its coming soon! One of these days, I’m going to pick up the flyrod instead of the camera…maybe tonight.

Man, that is harsh. And very funny!!!! :smiley:

Think it was three years ago I got my last run in with them. Super high tide forced me too close to the woods. :dizzy_face:

Awesome pics, hope you get on them tonight.

Although I always prefer Penny’s pics over yours :smiley: I have to admit that you have some mad camera skills.

So I couldn’t help it and went back last night with the fly rod…it was a little windier than the previous night, but I was still able to find three or four fish tailing, only two tailers were fairly active. Tried out two new flats that I’ve never fished before and one was productive and the other wasn’t. Also saw lots and lots of bait up on the flats last night. Big mullet and little crabs galore, good sign for things to come. I managed one on the fly just before sunset.

Now this is why we go out there…

All you guys posting these beautiful pictures are NOT helping my attitude at work.

Nice work. We set out last night and conditions were perfect, except the tailers sparsely showed. Tough evening.

The word “awsome” is way overused…but those pictures are awsome!

I’m driving down from Charlotte this weekend and hope to show my grand daughters some tailing fish during Saturday’s high water.

Nice!

Show-off…:wink::smiley:
